This program will empower students with the technical skills, confidence, and artistry to express themselves through song, building emotional resilience, cultural pride, and artistic skills in a supportive environment.
Mr. Bo’s Student Food Pantry
A pilot program designed to address the pressing issue of food insecurity among children and youth in Quitman County, Mississippi, and surrounding communities. This program is named in honor of Mr. Bo, a community leader and arts advocate who has dedicated his life to supporting underserved youth and families. The pantry will provide nutritious meals and snacks to students who face food insecurity, ensuring they have access to healthy food so they can focus on their education and personal growth.

Strings of Hope: A Journey Through Music
An innovative and impactful music program designed to introduce young children to the world of string instruments, empowering them through the power of music while cultivating essential life skills. Through this program, children will learn the basics of string instruments such as the violin, viola, cello, and double bass in a fun, supportive, and engaging environment.
The Visual Storytellers Program: Filming, Photography, and Videography
This program empowers and educates local youth and adults in the arts of photography, videography, and filmmaking. Through a hands-on, immersive curriculum, participants will gain technical skills and creative expertise that enable them to capture the stories, events, and experiences that define Quitman County and the broader Mississippi Delta
“STEM + Arts: Creative Minds, Future Success” is an innovative educational program designed by the Quitman County Arts Council and Cultural Center that integrates STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) with the arts (visual arts, music, and literacy) to enhance creativity, problem-solving, and academic achievement among students. This comprehensive program combines hands-on learning experiences in STEM subjects with artistic expression to promote both cognitive and emotional growth, while providing targeted support for students preparing for the ACT.
Art Across America: A Traveling Exhibitions Program
This initiative features a diverse range of visual art from across the United States, including works from Mississippi. The Art Across American exhibition showcase pieces by both emerging and established artists, offering a platform for a wide variety of artistic expressions, such as contemporary, traditional, experimental, and digital art.
Rhythm and Movement: Dance for Empowerment and Expression program
A program that recognizes the universal power of dance as a tool for self-expression, community connection, and physical wellness. By incorporating various dance styles such as ballet, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, African, Latin, ballroom, and more. This program provides a holistic approach to dance education that allows participants to explore, learn, and grow in an inclusive, creative environment.
Mozart Society Program
To stimulate and nourish the musical knowledge and artistic talents of disadvantaged youth through music instrumental study, and to provide opportunities for young music students to work toward a higher level of excellence in their schoolwork and personal lives.
Arts in Medicine (AIM)
To humanize healthcare experiences for patients, visitors, staff, and our wider communities. We aim for every person of any race, ability, age, or gender to have ongoing access to the arts and to realize their creative potential. We aim to be an ever-evolving model of how the arts promote physical, emotional, social, and spiritual health and well-being among individuals and communities alike.
Creative Arts Summer Camp
Art, music, dance, and visual arts; are housed at the Quitman County Arts and Culture Center. The camp culminates with a public/show exhibition arts crawl and music jamboree.
The Quitman County Arts Council and Culture Center is a hub for creativity and community, using art as a catalyst for change, growth, and unity. Through diverse programs, performances, and educational initiatives, it welcomes all residents to engage with the arts.
